You will need:

1 pair of 2.75mm (UK12/US2) double pointed needles.
1 pair of 3.25mm (UK10/US3) double pointed needles.
1 pair of 2.25mm (UK13/US1) straight needles for the butterfly.
Stitch markers.
Tapestry needle.
Cable needle.
Bits of brown thread or embroidery floss for the butterfly’s body.

4ply weight yarn, 50g of the main colour. (159m/174 yards).
4ply weight yarn, a small amount of contrasting colour, such as a lacy mohair for the butterfly.

28 stitches and 36 rows to measure 10cm (4″) square in stocking stitch using 3.25mm needles or the needles necessary to obtain the correct tension.
